How To Clean Tile Grout Like The Pro's

Ever wonder how to clean tile grout like a pro? Grout is an important part of any home, and it needs regular maintenance. Unfortunately, grouts are porous because they're made from sand and cement paste, making them more likely to stain. Luckily there are many ways you can easily clean your grouts at home yourself without having to call in the professionals! In this blog post, we will discuss how you can do so with tips on cleaning grout for homeowners.

1. Mix Equal Parts of Baking Soda and White Vinegar

This mixture is great for grout cleaning because it is non-toxic and will not damage your grout. When baking soda and white vinegar are mixed, they create a chemical reaction that will dissolve any dirt or stains and make your grout look brand new.

2. Pour Mixture

Make sure to get the mixture onto the grout lines because that is where the majority of dirt and stains will cling to. Pour your mixture on using a sponge, let it sit for five minutes or so while you do something else. Letting this sit will make the solution penetrate deep into your grout lines and loosen up any dirt or stains.

3. Scrub With a Toothbrush

A toothbrush is a great tool to use because it provides a small yet effective scrubbing surface. Use gentle circular motions to remove the dirt and stains from your grout. If you want to go the extra mile, a nail brush will do the trick as well!

4. Wipe Up the Excess Liquid

Once you have finished scrubbing the grout, you can remove any remaining liquid with a dry towel or sponge. Try to get as much dirt as you can off the floor or wall, so you don't spread dirt back into the grout.

5. Towel + Hydrogen Peroxide

Now that all of the dirt is out of the grout, it's time to keep it that way! Pour some hydrogen peroxide onto an old towel on your countertop or floor, then use the cloth to wipe down all of the grout. Remember not to let any excess liquid drip off the tile or into other areas of your home! It would help if you let this soaked towel sit for a few minutes to soak up any residue.

6. Toilet Brush Method

Using a toilet brush, dip the tip of it in some water and scrub away any excess dirt or debris left behind. The Grout Brush is made for this, but a toilet brush will do the trick if you don't have one handy. It's important to scrub away any stains in between tiles as they can become discolored over time and eventually create an unsightly yellow or brown color that contrasts with your white tile.
